FAQ

Hopefully you'll find the answers to any questions you have below; if not please drop us a line and we'll aim to answer and if appropriate add them here also for the benefit of other customers :)

Why choose fixedcrit.com?

A good question, and probably the first that comes into your head. Who are these people, can I trust them, why should I shop with them? Well, what can I say... yes we are new to the game, well that's not strictly true. fixedcrit.com is a trading name of Cyclelab Sports Ltd; we have been around for a few years and have decided to put together a source of quality components to serve the fixed crit racing community. Why buy from us? Well hopefully you will find some of the best gear at competitive prices and what makes us unique is that we are the offical european dealers for LOW//, UK dealers for IRD Modena and Knife Bikes. Being small we like to think we are personal, so drop us a line or give us a call to discuss whatever is on your mind!

Price Matching

We would like to think we offer the best service we can for our customers. We are not a large setup like a Wiggle or an Evans but being small we do have the opportunity to be flexible - so drop us a line if you are interested in something but think you can get it for a better price and we'll see what we can do!

The frames you have seem expensive!

As you will see many times over through the site; all the frames here are hand built by some of the finest builders on the planet. This means that the geometry, tubing, manufacturing, painting etc have all been developed for one purpose... to perform. Be in no doubt these are very special frames. But with specialty comes a cost due to the time, effort and materials involved. Never a truer word is said in the phrase "you get what you pay for"... just look at the reviews of LOW// frames online - they have to be seen to be believed.

Why don't I just buy direct from the builder?

You should find that it works out cheaper to buy them here! If you don't think so please drop us a line and explain why not and we'll look into it. If you were to try and source a LOW// frame from SF direct you will incur exchange fees from Euros or Pounds to Dollars, you have to pay import duty and taxes, shipping fees etc. We have kept our margins particularly thin to absorb as much as we can on these types of costs hence it should be cheaper to buy them here - we have had customers confirm this.

Also note, LOW// will direct you to us if you are based in Europe; we are their official dealer in Europe.

Can't find what you are looking for?

We are adding more products all the time, and we only list the most popular and our favourite items. That is not to say we can't supply what you are looking for - we have access to pretty much all the major brands and will look where possible to offer you the best price. Just contact us and let us know what you're looking for and we'll see how we can help.

Delivery Timescales - Components

As a small operator focusing on specialist custom builds and niche brands we do not carry a huge stock of all components. Our stock levels will vary from time to time and we may need to order from our distributors - we aim to deliver items to you within 2-4 days. If in doubt please ask.

Delivery Timescales - Framesets

All the framesets you will find featured on fixedcrit.com are hand built, not mass market. As such most will incur a lead time. We do forward order some frames in more popular sizes from time to time and these are available immediately. Please see the Builder and Ordering Process pages for further information.

Custom Building

This is our specialty! We can combine anything you see on the site into your perfect racing thoroughbred - give us a call to discuss your requirements and we can work out a build spec. We offer discounts on complete builds.

Shipping to Europe

We ship to Europe and charge a flat fee of £35. I can pretty much guarantee this is cheap!! We subsidise the real cost in a bid to provide the best value for our customers and help promote the best in fixed gear machinery into Europe.
